Chandra is both a Saumya or a Krura Graha depending on its Paksha Bala. When it is has high paksha Bala, it behave like Guru, else, it behaves like Shani. It is said that Chandra should not occupy the 8th house as it curtails longevity, however, Prthuyashas presented a different perspective, which could be true when Chandra is strong in Paksha Bala as well as Sthana Bala (based on its Rasi placement). In the Lagna, it gives good results only in Mesha, Vrshabha and Karka, while in other Rasis, its results are not good. Whatever results are mentioned below, it is assumed the Chandra is strong in Paksha Bala and is placed in Sva/ Uccha Rasi. If Chandra is weak in Paksha and Sthana bala, the results will be reverse i.e., the inauspicious results will be strong and auspicious results will be weak.
