Shani is the most inauspicious among all the grahas, being the significator for the Dusthanas. However, it is best placed in a Trishadaaya (3,6,11), where it gives success. It is well placed in the 10th house, provided the it occupies a good Rasi and the 10th lord is strong. In the Lagna, it gives good results only when it is in a good Rasi, else, it can make the life miserable and one without purpose. In the 2nd house, it can give good results only when the native leaves his homeland and settles elsewhere. It is not in the Moksha Trikona (4,8,12) where it can give much stress and suffering. In the 8th house, even if it gives good longevity, it can also give chronic diseases. It is also not welcome in the Trines. But its negativities are lesser if it occupies a Good Rasi (Sva, Uccha, Mula, Mitra).
