Surya being a Natural Malefic (Naisargika Krura), gives excellent results in the Trishadaayas. It attains Dikbala in the 10th house and like all the grahas, it gives outstanding results in the 11th house. Being a Agni Graha, its placement in the sensitive houses 4th, 8th and 12th are not welcome at all. Surya can cause bereavement of people signified by the Bhavas where it occupies, provided it is placed in a Neecha or Shatru sthana. This can also happen if Surya is conjoined or aspected by Shani, Mangal or Rahu. Aspect of Shubha Grahas viz., Guru, Shukra or Budha can protect the significations of the Bhavas. Among them aspect of Guru is especially healthy.
